Rodent Control

At night, do you hear what sounds like animals running through your attic or scratching in your walls? Although rats and mice are active all four seasons, as temperatures decrease, rodent activity increases. Now is the time to prepare. Being a rodent exterminator can be difficult work that requires industry knowledge and experience.

Rodent Control: What to Expect

With 40 years of experience, we know what to look for and how to approach your individual situation. To achieve rat control, Soles Exterminating follows a 4-step process. Each step is as critical as the next.

Step 1: Inspection

Before the rat removal begins, we must first determine where the rodents are entering the structure. During the inspection, we will search for common access points and weak spots. At most, rats only need a hole the size of a quarter to get into your home; if they can squeeze their head through, they can squeeze the rest of their body through.

Step 2: Exclusion

Once the access points are identified, the potential points of entry need to be closed. Our team will close most holes, but for large repairs, the homeowner will need to contact a professional specializing in home repair.

Step 3: Trapping

Inconspicuous and secured traps are set within your home to catch and trap any rodents that find a way inside the structure. We will continue to return until we are both confident the problem is solved.

Step 3: Reduction

After a thorough inspection of the exterior, weighted bait stations are strategically positioned to cut down on the surrounding rat population. These stations are then monitored and re-baited on a routine basis by one of our trained technicians.

Prevention is Important

So, you are not currently noticing rats in your house or attic. That is great, but let us help you reduce the possibility of future issues. Working together with you, we will modify our 4-step process by focusing on inspection, exclusion, and reduction. We will fill and place rodent bait stations on the exterior of your house, monitoring them monthly. Reducing the population on the outside is critical to prevent future problems.
